About the brand
About the brand
A label born from both love and the struggle to conform to society. In 2014, Hannah Rose and Steven Raj met while studying fashion design in Montreal, and from the moment they met, they saw within each other the possibility of embracing their true identities. The brand's name perfectly captures its essence: with beauty that intertwines with the grotesque aspects of the human experience, it aims to involve and inspire a public that isn't scared to express their true selves while still appreciating elegance and aesthetics.

FW26 “The One Percent”
Luxury, money, power, fame, and elegance melt together with perversion, apathy, and evil. The collection dissects “the one percent,” the elite that becomes a cult. Exaggerated tulle gowns and opera dresses starkly contrast with faces disfigured by extreme plastic surgery, giving the models a feline, alien appearance. They look inhuman, soulless. The elite is a caricature of itself. The upper class has no interest in its surroundings, it’s blinded by money and the power that comes with it. Apathy and power walk hand in hand. Structured looks are a hallmark of the brand.

From apathy and power, evil is born. Lambskin pearl gloves with red palms and makeup focused on red lipstick, bloody hands and mouths. Evil excites them, their minds are distorted and perverted. Models walk with pearly BDSM equipment.

Kubrick’s cinematography plays a major role as a reference and influence throughout the collection: twin models walk down the runway in an unsettling synchronized manner, just like the twins in “The Shining”. Halfway through the show, the aesthetic shifts from enormous colored gowns and structured, classy silhouettes to dark, sporty, casual garments such as hooded capes. Models form a circle, as in the secret cult seen in “Eyes Wide Shut”. They represent the side of the bourgeoisie that doesn’t respect the norms, the nonconformist, the rebellious.

There is a third and final image: a segment of the one percent that can afford what the rest cannot. Silver feathers and silver spikes cover some dresses. Michelle Lamy, still trying to beat the allegations of being part of a cult, wears a knitted dress with fur sleeves. The pinnacle of the show is reached with the look designed by Steven Raj, based on the silhouette of an Elizabethan dress. Hannah Rose herself walks in an albino python suit rendered in the brand’s signature silhouette.
