Martin Trifonov is a Milan based fashion design student at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA). Born in Norway but originally from Bulgaria. He designed a jacket for one of the most known Bulgarian rappers @kriskobeats. The artist wore the jacket as a part of his stage outfit for a concert in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The event was organized by @balkanmadnessparty and @balkanqueens.events, it was also them that connected Martin to Krisko and navigated him through the project.

A close friend of mine who’s part of the BalkanMadness Party team contacted me to help film a promotional video for the concert. As we were talking I jokingly said what if I also made something more fashion related for Krisko and that’s how it started. My friend reached out to Kriskos manager and they were actually interested to see my portfolio and a design concept. They liked it so I got to work. When thinking about the design I kept in mind Krisko’s personal style and that the concert takes place in the Netherlands. Around that time I had just watched Wes Anderson's “The Grand Budapest Hotel” so I was very inspired by Willem Dafoe’s character jacket. For the final design I decided on a leather bomber jacket with two big pocket covers which the top one has the symbol of the Netherlands - a tulip, and the bottom the country's flag sewn inside of it. They hide small pockets underneath. The back print lists all the sold out shows for the “Старият Криско” tour.

Making the garment was a very fun process. Working with high-quality lamb skin leather was a new experience for me. It took me three weeks to complete the pattern and sew the garment. Getting the measurements right for Krisko was important, I got a lot of help from @stefan.milevv, a friend and an assistant in my sewing class. Together we made sure it fit right and everything worked correctly before starting to cut the fabrics and sew. I’m really happy with the final product and feel this is a huge accomplishment.
